About "braided moments"

The famous photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson said that you cannot develop and print a memory.

I happen to disagree. The moments when hearts melt, fingers lock, or the elements of nature come together in a magical way I call "braided moments". I am out there to capture these moments which become a memory and define who we are today.

I am Petsy Fink, a German born, globetrotting photographer who loves to communicate. With words for the first 20 years in my career. With pictures for as long as I can think. My photography originates in nature and landscape photography - conventional or abstracted. I like to be alone with my thoughts and my camera. No words. No people. Bliss.

However telling a story in pictures capturing the warmth, intimacy, fun, and quirkiness of your relationships with your children, friends and family is irresistible. Lots of words. Lots of people. Heartwarming. I get the best of both worlds because I also work as a family photographer, photographing weddings, engagements, maternity, family events, newborns and children. See my people photography on my Blog: http://blog.petsy-fink.com/

I live in the countryside of southern Germany with my husband Mark, however I do photograph worldwide. I love long-distance hiking, my friends and family, words and silence, and the sinking into other culture's habits and particularities. Over the years I developed a special love for South Africa and I draw a never-ending inspiration from the Japanese culture, its philosophies and the touching beauty of this country.
